The discovery of this excavation was chosen as one of the " 10 new archaeological discoveries in china in 1997 " by zhongguo wenwu bao from nearly 500 archaeological projects . all the unearthed remains are now preserved by the antiquities and monuments office and they will be displayed to the public in the ma wan cultural relics museum in the future ma wan theme park once the construction has been completed 马湾东湾仔考古发掘，被中国文物报从全国近五百个考古项目中，评选为一九九七年全国十考古新发现之一；所发现的遗物，已由古物古迹办事处保存，并预算在将来马湾主题公园内的马湾文物馆成立后，公开展览供游客参观。
